What the speaking level check is

An informal speaking level check or re-check that gives your plan a starting point. The official site calls it the “free speaking level check”.

Coming from the official site? The site’s “free speaking level check” and the speaking level check on this page are the same thing (an informal placement). The site version may be shorter; do the full check and make plans in the app. Entry points: Two entry points on the official site. Building a habit: From trial to habit.

The speaking level check (first time or re-check) tells you roughly where you are now and gives your AI plan a starting point. It is a placement for learning, not a certificate exam.

Where it is

The Speaking level check shortcut on Home, or Me → Free speaking level check. Parents and teachers can also invite a child or learner to take it.

What may be in it

  • Speaking items such as reading aloud, short answers, and short talks
  • The system may add items or change the length based on your answers

Item types follow what the app shows.

After the check

If…

  • You quit halfway: you can come back later; whether progress is kept follows the app.
  • The result feels very different from your own sense: re-check, or write a more specific goal when you make the plan.
  • Your target level is far above the result: Exam prep still generates; review the steps before you start.
