Messages lets a parent and child (Family), or a teacher and learner (Teaching), send each other short notes. It is for reminders to practise, not for grading or scores. Teaching uses the same place, so there is no separate article.
Where it is
Me → Messages.
Good for
- Reminding someone about Today’s step or a speaking task
- Encouragement and short feedback
- Agreeing on a practice time
Not meant for
- System notices such as usage alerts. Those appear under Notifications
- Long homework corrections or arguing about grades. DodoTalk is not a homework desk
Steps
- Each person signs in to their own account (the parent’s main account, the child’s account).
- Open Me → Messages.
- Send a short reminder. To check progress as well, use Parent proxy view.
Push, read status, and how long messages are kept follow the notes in the App. For how Messages differs from system notices, see Notifications and messages.
If…
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| The other person can’t see your message | Make sure you are both in the same Family space and the child signs in with their own account |
| You’re not sure whether something is a message or a notification | Notifications come from the system; messages come from family members or the teacher |
